This course provides energy sector business leaders and professionals with a foundation for understanding the place of artificial intelligence (AI) within the renewable energy sector. Participants will learn about different types of AI technologies and applications as well as assess the opportunities for utilising AI to generate climate co-benefits.

Participants will learn about AI use cases in a variety of settings, including within electricity systems, transportation, buildings, and industry. They will also gain an understanding of different strategies for identifying and prioritising potential AI applications. In these ways, the course is designed to guide and support business decision-making processes based on understanding key AI concepts and uses.

  • AI terminology, concepts, and algorithms
  • Assessments of AI in the literature
  • AI use cases in the renewable energy sector
  • Use case identification and employment
