Renewable Energy in the Water Sector: Organization and development of four study tours on innovative renewable energy approaches in the water sector

The study tour’s aim was to look closely at the pumped-storage power plant and how this technology can contribute to renewable energy in the Jordanian grid. The tour’s goal was also to encourage different innovative areas where both water and energy sectors work together to improve efficiency, reduce energy and water consumption, and increase the use of renewable energy, in order to reduce energy and water costs. This human capacity development measure targeted leaders, managers and technical professionals from the water and electricity utilities as well as the relevant ministries.
