RENAC's Academic Services

With its foundation in 2008, RENAC started close cooperations with the Technische Universität Berlin (Technical University Berlin) and the Berliner Hochschule für Technik (Berlin University of Applied Sciences) and has since expanded its range of higher education-related services.

To create sustainable green energy markets, RENAC has developed an integrated approach for rendering services and sharing expertise with the academic sector.

This approach covers both short-term and long-term interventions, and includes:

  • University Cooperations (Partnership Programmes)
  • Building Capacity Services for Universities
  • Development and Provision of Learning Content
  • Establishment of Renewable Energy Training Centres and Training for Training Centre Staff
  • International Expert and Lecturer Service

University Cooperations (Partnership Programmes)

Over the years, RENAC has collaborated with universities from around the world to provide the educational programming and capacity building services necessary to help educate and train green energy sector professionals and stakeholders.

We partner with academic institutions to deliver graduate programmes on renewable energy (RE) finance and technology.

The following RENAC’s academic programmes are undertaken in partnership with universities.

Development and Provision of Learning Content

With its Online Academy, RENAC offers a wide range of online learning resources in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency for different audiences and knowledge levels, including Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
The online courses comprise a blend of educational materials, such as:

  • comprehensive study texts,
  • interactive quizzes,
  • dedicated online forums for support,
  • video presentations and lectures, and
  • comprehensive assignments.

To ensure the highest quality, all our online learning materials intended for universities and postgraduated programmes undergo accreditation by an independent accreditation council. Furthermore, our online courses are certified by the German public authority, ‘Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht’ (ZfU), and are built on the open-source LCMS Moodle platform.

Supporting the Professional Development of University Graduates

RENAC has also developed extensive professional development programmes for university graduates.

Professional development support is key to ensuring that the knowledge learned and skills acquired as part of university programmes are connected to the implementation and realisation of green energy projects.

The alumni network, ANSAP, supports mentees who reside in countries in Africa who have programmes at German educational institutes in Germany or abroad. The network guides members in the market and business development of renewable energy technology and energy efficiency projects.
