Description

Description

This course covers important aspects of business plans related to the financing and assessment of procedures required prior to a first disbursement under a project loan facility. Participants will learn about how to obtain funding from financial institutions that are analysing the bankability of renewable energy (RE) projects, particularly wind, PV, and biogas projects. The course focuses on the attitude of banks towards risk as well as on the material risks faced by RE projects that are assessed by lenders and their external advisors during due diligence assignments.

Examples of bankability analyses are provided, namely for a German wind farm, a French PV power plant, and a Romanian biogas project. These case studies focus on the analyses of: assessments of forecasted annual energy generation; the revenue potential offered by the different national support systems; the risks associated with the relevant technologies and country investment frameworks; and project cash flows.

This course covers:

  • Project value chains
  • Financing options for RE projects
  • SPV-contract negotiations
  • Business planning for RE projects
  • Bankability assessments
  • Financial engineering
  • RE project case studies

Receive a reminder one week before the registration deadline.
