Bilateral Energy Cooperation Initiatives
To secure the success of Germany’s energy transition, the Energiewende, within larger efforts to achieve the energy policy objectives laid out in the Paris Agreement, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) has established ongoing dialogues and formal partnerships with over 20 partner countries so far. The Renewables Academy (RENAC) AG is part of a consortium of project partners that supports the BMWK in its endeavour to foster cooperation and the exchange of knowledge on energy and climate policy with several such countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. As part of the consortium with partners adelphi and the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, RENAC is charged with the organisation of high-level expert delegation trips to Germany, as in-person or virtual events. In 2022, RENAC has already organised five events for stakeholders from Australia, Canada, and the United States.

Background

Green Banking – Capacity Building on Green Energy and Climate Finance is a scholarship programme within the German International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC) has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) to provide a three-year capacity building programme on renewable energy and energy efficiency finance in the partner countries Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, India and Indonesia. The project started in November 2015 and will run until October 2018.
